Weekend Update - April 6

Posted at 4/6/2025, 4:25:22 AM

Hello readers,

Well, that was a weird and wild seven days here on SOL. I won’t go into the details of the whole server/policy change and then reversion/relief situation, but I will say I hope things work out. Hopefully that isn’t too vague.

Some things you may notice when looking through my story descriptions is that most of my teen tags (mt/ft) have changed (MA/FA). That was due to the events of the past week. The stories themselves haven’t changed too much. A few words tweaked here and there but for the most part, you likely won’t even notice the difference. Every one of my teen-related stories was touched and reuploaded to avoid potential issues but they all returned quickly before the end of the weekend (March 29-30).

On more fun news. This week is another Snow Angel, with Callie and Shane spending the day having around the townsite. Shane learns more about Callie’s past and the two grow closer together. There’s only one story this week. This little two-week break was planned to let me finish work on some other stories. I’m hoping to do this for a couple weeks here and there with just one release, instead of the longer month or two long breaks that I’ve been doing. I think this might be more sustainable long term.

Writing-wise… uh, where to start with this. So, for those regular readers of this blog, you’ll know I was working on two new stories, West Side High and Snowed In. Well, the chaos and confusion of the past week as to what is and isn’t acceptable on SOL kind of freaked me out. Not in an ‘I’ll be arrested way’, more of in a ‘my story can’t be posted anymore, and I have nothing in backup’ sort of way.

What does that rambling gibberish mean? Both West Side High and Snowed In have been indefinitely shelved for the time being. If posting policy changed suddenly, there would be no quick way to fix them (since they both take place in and around high schools). I’m hoping we’ll get some kind of all clear in the next week or so, but I don’t want to just wait and see.

Instead, I’ve frantically started writing a new story (so new I don’t have a real title for it yet, just the working title Camping). It is the story of a girl who has a run in with a man one night at a campsite washroom. She’s intrigued by what happened and is drawn into his game. It is told from her first-person perspective, so you get a bit more of her inner turmoil. I’ve written one chapter so far and I’m pretty happy with it. This should be a 5-chapter serial, and if people like it, there could be more as we follow Jane’s sexual journey.

I’m also fast-tracking the final four chapters of Sister’s Servant. Those weren’t supposed to come out till mid-May, but I know what I want to do; and I doubt anyone will complain about not having an almost 2-month long break. This one was supposed to come out after Snowed In, but whatever. If I think things are safe and back to normal, Snowed In will come out after Sister’s Servant is complete.

That's the update for now. Thank you to everyone who reads stuff, and all the great feedback and comments. I do read all of them so feel free to let me know your thoughts.
Thank you again,

Weekend Update - March 23

Hello readers,

This has been a day, yikes. A series of unfortunate events seemed to conspire against my new story Snow Angel today. First, the story didn't post till much later than usual. It is normally available for most people when they wake up. It likely had to do with the server swap or issue #2. That issue was a strange formatting problem where the text conversation between Shane and Callie turned into bubbles and caused everything after it to shrink to 2 to 3 letters per line. Shout out to all the readers who alerted me to the problem. It is never a good sign when I check my story stats and find several messages in my inbox right away. It always means I screwed up or there's a problem; but I'd rather know about it so it can be fixed quickly. I fixed and resubmitted as soon as I could and it is better now. I put a blog up to let people know but that may have also kept people from checking it out after the fact.

Now, I have no idea how Snow Angel is doing or if I need to tweak things like the teaser blurb. It's just one of the worst things that can happen to a new story. I guess I'll just have to wait till next week to see how chapter 2 does, then go from there. If you have any suggestions or thought on Snow Angel, please let me know.

Moving on to happier things. Writing this week has gone really well. I'm very happy with how West Side High is shaping up, and Snowed In is turning into a fun sexy romp. Both are high school focused but very different tonally, so I hope it won't feel samey. I'm planning for both to have a long or continuing narrative, either with added chapters or new stories in a series. I will still write them in batch format (4 to 5 chapter runs and then a 4-5 week break, with something else replacing them). I feel it allows me to rejuvenate and not get sick writing something (also to incorporate feedback from all of you, if needed).

This Week - Wednesday, we have the conclusion of A Girl's Guide to Cookie Dough, on the ghostwritten after dark account. I am sad to end this one but I think it ran its course. It doesn't have a FIRM ending, like say, Sheltered from the Storm but it gives some conclusion to things. It could comeback if interest is there, but I'm looking forward to new things on that account where I can go a little darker. After that, Saturday morning should have Snow Angel chapter 2. Shane and Callie get closer and learn a bit more about one another. Hopefully, everything will work properly from the start.

That's it for me this week. I'll keep writing and I hope you keep reading. The community here is great and today just cemented that.

Thank you everyone,

Weekend Update - March 16

Hello readers,

Well, that marks the end of Sheltered from the Storm. I was curious how the ending would be received, as it wasn’t the usual happy one for the two leads. The idea was the story was about these few days and chance encounter that changed the life of Pete and put him on a different path. I hope I was able to convey that in the final chapter.

Support for this story from beginning to end has been very strong. Thank you to everyone who read, commented, and rated it. I know you all have many options for fun stories here and I’m always happy to make a little blip on the radar amongst some of the giants. My stuff’s not “book-worthy” or anything, it is just usually fun smut; and I’m ok with that.

Writing-wise this week, things are rolling on West Side High. I am really excited to start this one as it’ll be something different to what I’ve written so far. A mix of coming-of-age romance with high school drama, my hope is to have it be an ongoing story for quite a while. I hope that when it comes out in May, you’ll enjoy it.

Besides that, I finished something no one was looking forward to, a new Winter’s Bite story. Yup, I hadn’t forgotten my weird survival story series. It’s fanfic of something but don’t worry, you don’t even need to know the name of what it is fanfic of. This one was started in September, and I only just finished it. It is called Whiteout and should be posted mid-April. I hope all ten of you are excited about it. I joke (kind of) but this is really for an audience of one, me.

On to next week and something people might actually read, first on Wednesday is the final chapter in this second last block of Sister’s Servant. Corey heads over to Tina’s house to try to win back her trust. Can he explain everything that happened yesterday without spilling the beans about Addie? Meanwhile, Addie feels the nagging sting of guilt for what she’s done and wonders if she went too far.

I’m not too sure what people’s thoughts are on Sister’s Servant. Scores have increased over time, but views are pretty consistent, not really growing or shrinking. The final batch of stories to wrap this story up should be around mid-May, I think. It depends on how long the story before that goes which I am just starting up, Snowed In (I’ve written about it before here).

On the weekend, we will see the first chapter of Snow Angel, a similar-ish story to Sheltered from the Storm. This one is about Shane, a man who goes on a ski vacation to Banff, Alberta. While at his hotel, he runs into an annoying man he met at a conference in Las Vegas. He gets roped into hanging out with Reginald and his family, which includes Callie, a high school senior and aspiring writer. This story will run until the end of April, I hope you enjoy it.

That’s it for this week’s blog. Feel free to let me know your thoughts or if you have any suggestions for how I could improve. Thanks for reading!

Weekend Update - March 9

Hello readers,

How's everyone doing this week? Lots of stress and chaos going around so just remember to breathe.
Sheltered from the Storm did amazing this week with large growth in views for the first 24 hours after a chapter drops. The review score has risen as well to over a 7.00, which is a very solid score. Thank you to everyone who's been checking it out and those who've reached out to let me know their thoughts. The final chapter is next week, so I hope you all stick around for the finale.

Sister's Servant keeps on chugging along, although this week took a little dive in views. This is one that I'm passionate about and I know it has its fans, so I'm not concerned at all. We'll get more Addie, Tina, and Corey, in the future until I wrap up their story as I envisioned it. I have a plan and I'm sticking with it. Unfortunately, that isn't always the case as some stories just don't have advocates and they just sort of whither away. Chapter 10 will be out on Wednesday this upcoming week, so keep an eye out for that.

What I've been working on this week, I just (like 10 minutes ago from when I started writing this) finished the final chapter of Snow Angel. I'm looking forward to getting that out to all of you when Sheltered from the Storm ends. It went a little longer than planned but it was a fun write and will run till the end of April.
I also finished the final chapter of A Girl's Guide to Cookie Dough, for the 'ghostwritten after dark' account. I hope it does some justice in wrapping that story up for those that have enjoyed the spicier stuff over there. One big problem I'm finding with my plan of posting once a month over there is it doesn't really build views up well. It also is difficult to keep a common flow of tone and ideas in the writing. I'm looking at a different approach to stories there in the future. I'll have more about what I'm thinking once it's ironed out.

That's pretty much it. This week, I start writing some new stuff that I've very excited about, and lots more stories to share in the future. Thanks for sticking around and reading my gibberish. As always, constructive feedback is always appreciated, positive or negative.

Have fun out there, and stay safe.

Weekend Update - March 2

Posted at 3/2/2025, 5:49:10 AM

Hello readers,
There are a few things to chat about so let’s get started.

First off, thank you to everyone who nominated for Peeping Tammy for Best Incest Story for The Clitorides. Please check out all the nominees and vote for your favorite. I think the idea of awards for erotic writing is fun, so I encourage everyone to check their site out and maybe find some new material you may like.

Sheltered from the Storm continues to do well for views/downloads. I’m actually surprised as I thought there would be a large drop in the second week due to people being upset with the tagging last week (referring to putting all tags up in advance instead of week to week). A did have a few people reach out to say they prefer it to be added when the chapter includes it, which I tend to agree with.

With regard to the story itself, it is tracking lower in terms of rating than I hoped. I’m curious about what I’m doing wrong in my writing and what I can do to improve (besides knowing diesel generators don’t use spark plugs). I usually target something in the 7s but aspire to an 8 in the future. I knew this one wouldn’t get to those heights, but still… I’d like to do better.

Sister Servant returned and did pretty well in both metrics. I hope you are excited about the upcoming chapters. There is not too much to say about this one, after 8 chapters you’re likely in or out on it.

This upcoming week, we’ve got new chapters of both stories listed above. I’ll skip the teasers this week as I need to get back to writing and I don’t know if people want to know that stuff. Writing this week has gone well with a direct focus on Snow Angel. I have started framing the next long-form narrative story, working title West Side High, as well as I’ve framed out the snowed-in story (no working title yet) I mentioned a few weeks ago. That one has changed a little bit since then, but I’ll get into it when things get closer to completion.

Thanks to everyone who reached out this past week and to all my readers have a great week,
-ghostwritten
