I started writing W&S during the latter half of 2009, completing it during 2015, along with L&T, and two other stories. Immediately after this period, the changes in the political and societal landscape in the USA accelerated to become more intense, and less pragmatic and predictable (yes, I am the master of the obvious).
Some of the stuff I wrote became a little too close to an imagined reality that I did not expect to happen. And the three people that I had based the Sean O'Brien character on, had became a little too identifiable.
Which brings us to my L&T story. It was originally written as a psychological humor piece, where the Mark Watson character is based on a friend (buried him last week) that was my bunky during a misguided stint in the military. Also, I totally fucked up and did not change the names of some of the characters from their actual names. Two of the principle characters, loosely based on the real-life GnySgt Scott and Maj Hegstrom (now deceased), while very dynamic individuals, were, to my knowledge, never directly involved in any such activities as depicted in the L&T story.
Between the loss of four good friends during the last two years, and on the advice of legal counsel, the endings of the two current stories are being re-written, as is a third, yet to be released story. The re-write will fuck up or lose a lot of good stuff. But as Gunny Scott always said, "Life sucks, then you die".
Final Note. I have previously commented as such, but will say it again. I do not care if my prose sucks. I write for thefuckofit.
