This review is for the combined stories of John Carter and Ed Biggers. Why combine the reviews? Mainly because some of the holes in the John Carter story are filled in the Ed Biggers story. In my opinion, both must be read in order to get the full effect.

For plot, the stories encompass the lives of two men. The first one, John Carter, is chosen by not only one God, but by several, and as such becomes the first Grand Druid in a millennium. One could say that the second man, Ed Biggers, was then chosen by John Carter. They live their lives following two main rules: If it hurt none, do it, and Protect the weak from the strong. Their journey influences others to also live by those rules, changing the world for the better in the process. I give the stories an exceptional 10, even though there were aspects of the plot that did not appeal to me (I am not into M/M sex).

For technical score, both stories need some good editing. In a couple if spots, the wrong character name was used. Most of the mistakes were homophone errors (reigns vs reins, threw vs through, forth vs fourth, dessert vs desert, etc). A few were simply transcribed errors (casual vs causal, form vs from, etc). Some chapters had fewer mistakes than others, but altogether the story gets a B (7) due to the number of errors found.

For personal appeal, the stories get an A+ (9). Parts will have you crying, while other parts leave you laughing at the imagery and the interaction between the characters. The main message in the stories, if followed, would leave the world a better place for all. The main thing that reduced this score from a 10 was the sheer number of small errors.

I reserve the right to raise both the technical and appeal scores in the future if the author makes the corrections.

Plot: 10 | Technical Quality: 7 | Appeal to Reviewer: 9

For those of you who are new to SOL and Lazlo Zalezac's works, Ed Biggers is a 'spinoff' of the John Carter story and series. Like the story John Carter, Ed Biggers takes off where John Carter leaves off.

However, I think the main reason Lazlo wrote this while writing John Carter was to give us a different perspective of the whole Carter family and legacy.

This is an equally awesome story and the author keeps very true to his vision, goal, mission, message, you name it, every nuance of the Carter story is covered here.

I hope you'll enjoy this and read all of Lazlo's work. He's truly one of the best anywhere around and it's such a pleasure to read his humanistic, heartfelt, and touching stories.

Enjoy!!!

Plot: 10 | Technical Quality: 10 | Appeal to Reviewer: 10
