Bernard Tomic's arrest is the most Bernard Tomic thing ever
If you don't know Bernard Tomic, let's do a quick little catch-up: Australian tennis prodigy with stereotypical tennis father, bad driver, tabloid fixture, historic match tanker and all-around poster child for youthful talent run amok.
Tomic's minor-league rap sheet had another addition on Wednesday when the 22-year-old was staying at the W in South Beach (of course he was) and, according to Miami Beach police, was told by hotel security to lower the volume of his music. When Tomic didn't comply (I really hope he angrily used the phrase "don't you know who I am, mate?" and security was like, "uh, no?") he was told he was being evicted.
Tomic allegedly refused to budge, then was warned he was technically trespassing after the eviction, still wouldn't move and was finally arrested on "misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest without violence and trespassing."
So if you're counting at home, Tomic was given three chances (!) to not get arrested and refused every one of them, which is a pretty apt metaphor for his tennis career too.
Someone just get a collection of Bernard Tomic's clippings and make Nick Kyrgios read them every day.
